Hey guys, not sure if this is the place to post but I'm losing my mind. I have a samsung galaxy s3 with Rogers, and while in the USA I cannot connect to the internet even though I am 'connected' to a wifi network. Does anybody have any ideas as to how I can fix this issue? As I'm unsure what is wrong.

    Thank you.

I'm not sure if you have the international version, or if your s3 is unlocked, but I assume you could look up the apn settings for an equivalent network and add them manually.

I'm not really savvy with these android's so I'm unsure what you mean. However, at first the home wifi here would not work here either, so I changed some IP address and then it connected, BUT... even while connected, no internet websites work or anything.

Okay, so you're issue is with trying to connect to Wi-Fi. I must have misread your original post. That's kind of odd that you can connect to Wi-Fi but can't get anywhere. Have you tried connecting to Wi-Fi in multiple places (such as starbucks or anywhere with open Wi-Fi)?

Are you getting any errors when you try to get anywhere in the internet?

Np. Well at first when I crossed over to the US the wifi would connect and work in the bus. Although, when I got to NJ where I'm residing right now, first thing I noticed is that I could not connect to the home wifi here(obtaining ip address & failed). That's when my brother in law told me that his friend who also once had a s3 galaxy couldn't ever connect while here either, odd right?

So I read up a bit online and changed some Ip's on my phone and then I could indeed connect to the wifi, yet not get any internet..It would simply just load and say 'page not found'. From what I saw I couldn't connect around Barnes and Noble either while connected to a wifi there.

Thanks for sticking around, that's basically how it started.

What IPs did you change and which ones did you leave intact? It might be as simple as a DNS issue.

Thought the post got buried, thanks for replying. As for your question, I believe I changed both the Ip's listed under the particular home WIFI network when you hit the advanced tab to configure it. The addresses were ones I found online in some thread, and while using those particular ip's it allowed me to get connected, but not get onto any websites.

I believed, what I changed were these:
    -IP
    -Gateway
    -One of the DNS

Sorry, once again, I'm not so savvy with this type of trouble shooting, as it is the first time I have encountered this problem.
