Spent some time in the Colorado Rockies this last week. Went on two separate hikes above 12,000 feet. I had no connectivity of course, but I pre-loaded maps, and used the GPS functions. Everything worked great!

I live in Denver and regularly ski with my phone and use my gps and different apps.

Most of the resorts have apps for tracking, sharing photos, and whatnot.

Very cool and they usually work at really high altitude.

Does the elevation show correctly? I would like to see a screenshot of the GPS Status app (if you have it).

I don't have a screen shot, but it was withing 150 feet or so, at known elevations. It kind of bounced around a little to either side of the accurate mark. My Wife's old HTC EVO bounced as well but stayed consistently 9000 feet lower in elevation. It definitely had an issue with elevation. At 10,000 feet it became accurate again.

We are going for another hike in a couple of weeks. I will get you a screenshot at that time.
