    Hey guys,

My Samsung S4 handset when booted up stays on the "Samsung" logo loading screen before booting into the OS. I've tried loading the boot screen to clear the cache to no avail - the factory reset seems like the last option I can try but I really don't wish to lose all my photos stored on my internal storage (I don't have a SD card in the phone)

I was wondering if perhaps flashing the bios would be worth a try, and how I would go about doing this seeing as I don't have USB debugging enabled (and can't because you need to access the OS)? Or any way of being able to access my photos and safely store them so that I can perform a factory reset.

    Thanks for your help!

    Gerard

You can re-flash the OS by using http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Put in your device/model num, and your carrier and it should be able to find your firmware.

This will reflash everything on the device, so it'll be like new.

Thanks for the help! Just a question - am i supposed to download the firmwire via the website using my phone or computer? My phone doesn't boot to the OS so i can't download it on there or enable USB debugging.

    Thanks for the help!

You download it on your computer, once you've done that report back to me.

Thanks! I've downloaded it onto my hard drive according to the model no. and carrier. This is where I struggle to know how to install it onto my phone without my phone being able to boot to the OS :D

    Thanks!

@Hadron you know how to flash sammobile downloads? I've never done it so I can't really help here.

Hold volume down, power and the home key . At the warning press volume up. Connect the phone to the PC.

Choose the AP or Pda option in Odin. Select the file you downloaded then press start in Odin. Once it says pass unplug the phone and it should start to boot up.

Nope, I have one Samsung device but it's also the only one I've never modified (I use it only for work), so I've never tried this.
