Help Galaxy s4 storage issues

I have attempted to free up space on my phone when I discovered that the photos and videos took up 2.46 GB yet I only have twelve photos and no videos and I have searched through the phone also, anyone else having this issue?

So what your saying is when your in the storage tab, you tap on the Pictures, videos and it takes you to the gallery. You only see twelve pictures? If so, then yes, I have noticed this too. All my pictures are stored on my SD card and not internal memory.

Edited: The only logical thing I can think of is that its giving you a total of all images/videos that are stored in internal memory. (Even though those images/videos aren't showing up in gallery.) In my case, I have a lot of pictures and scanned documents stored in internal memory, in different folders I created. Maybe that's what's adding up to the 2.01 GB of space being used on my phone.
