Found this piece on various websites, such as here: http://www.dx.com/p/replacement-wat...=USD&gclid=CMjWismjsMoCFccXHwodYBwNdg#reviews

and here: http://www.amazon.com/Vastar-Samsun...577&sr=8-3&keywords=samsung+s5+usb+port+cover

The Amazon website indicates "no" directions will be provided.

Will removing these screws and replacing this cover void the Samsung warranty ?

This is a fairly simple repair that you should be able to accomplish yourself (unless you are totally ham-fisted, in that case get a friend to help you) without affecting your warranty. The only possible exceptions I can think of are if you damage the phone during the process, or the seal on the replacement cover is inferior and allows water intrusion.

Thanks. So many users have complained about this problem, one would think Samsung would be more responsive in permitting a quick and easy resolution, but NO.

1. Have ordered and received a USB cover from a source other than Samsung. It took 18 seconds to install BUT the cover does not fit tight or snug. The original was better.
2. Contacted Samsung and Samsung refuses to send this part to the customer. Samsung said the phone must be sent to one of their "walk in" service centers, the closest one being hundreds of miles away.

Will seek alternate sources.

If you're in San Francisco and want Samsung to repair your S5, guess where you go, or where the phone goes.
