    Hey,

I'm looking to upgrade my S5 to an S7. I have a few power cables for the S5. It looks as though the S7 has a different connector. I have a Belkin car charger that has a removable USB cable for the S5. What is the amperage of the charger that should be used with the S7? Also, is it USB 3?

    Thanks,

    James

The older chargers will work, they just might not provide as much current as the OEM S7 charger will.

that is not a problem, it just takes a bit longer to reach full charge.

I went from an S5 to an S7. Your S5 specific cables will not work with the S7. The S5 had two different connectors joined together. The S7 returned to the standard micro USB connector. The good news is you can easily get micro USB connectors.
