    Hi,

I am trying to choose among the phones aforementioned, please help me which one is better and why.

I know the Galaxy S6 has better specs but that does not necessarily mean it will be faster, more responsive, etc.

    Thanks.

I moved this thread to the Device/Carrier Comparisons area.

Personally, I'm a Nexus guy. They tend to get support longer, have little or no carrier/mfg bloat and are the first to receive updates. Unless you are an inveterate gamer, I doubt you'll see much performance difference in any of these.

But will I see better performance, longer battery life, etc. going from the Galaxy S4 to the Nexus 5x?

Also, how long do they keep receiving the updates for?

The bloatware can be uninstalled by rooting which I always do.

The 5X is not the flagship Nexus. You probably will see average performance in everything including battery. If you are looking for maximizing everything then maybe the the 5x isn't the device for you. The S6 is nice, but based on reviews, the S7 is much better.

As far as updates go, officially Google is a little wishy-washy about that right now, but it's always been as long as the hardware supports the update.

The Galaxy S7 is too expensive, I was looking to spend $300 top.

I head the S6 is lags a lot.

Hmm, my son has an S6 and he's pretty happy with it. I can't say I've every heard him complain about lag.

Which one do you think is better regardless of what the specs say, yours or his?

Just about every phone on the planet has better battery life than the S4. I know because I own one.:)

I have an S4 and the battery is alright but this is the best phone I have owned though.
