Galaxy S7 Active model, launch

The U.S. carrier AT&T is launching the carrier exclusive model of the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S7 Active. This is a tougher, rugged, version of the standard AT&T S7 model and comes with a whopping 4,000 mAh battery, a 5.1" screen with a shatter proof polycarbonate layer and 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage with card slot as well. The model also has a fingerprint scanner in the Home button. I am afraid that it is still using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. Launch date is scheduled for the 10th June.

If only Samsung were to release the Active on an Exynos 8890 chipset with an unlocked and rootable bootloader, no carrier modifications and none of the mega carrier bloatware that AT&T insist on, it would be the dogs danglies!

If I were interested in going back to Samsung I'd snatch this phone up, but I'm happy with my HTC 10
