Galaxy S8+ Battery shortcut and Gsam (Nougat)

Ok, so I got the S8+ Father's Day BOGO Special (Thanks to my beautiful wife) at T-Mobile. I usually buy used or older flagships or budget phones but she was in a giving mood. Who am I to spoil that? lol

Now, one thing I found is that I cannot seem to find how to put the (stock) battery shortcut on my home screen. I always use it because I don't want to have to go to settings. I guess I need to use a third party shortcut app?

I use Gsam in conjunction to my stock battery app. With Nougat, I cannot see what apps are using up my battery. My battery life is great but I always like to keep an eye on apps that use the battery alot. I don't really want to go to ADB to set this up.

I love this phone. So smooth and powerful. Still a few things I need to test like the camera. I really need to take more pictures. Overall, very happy with the phone. Been a long time since I had a flagship phone. I'm keeping it as stock as possible because all the Samsung major apps (dialer, text, contacts, calendar) do what I need/want it to do. Android Pay worked like a charm at Rite Aid.

Can you setup an edge panel for device maintenance, that'll give you back shortcut to the battery screen.

It's the way things are in nougat unfortunately, only system apps can give a detailed breakdown of battery.

Thanks, I found a third party shortcut from many years ago that still works. Just a basic shortcut to battery app:

That Edge Panel thing is slick.

I really have to play around more w/this phone!!
