Okay, looked at the existing threads and didn't find quite the right problem addressed.

    So first, the stats:

    Galaxy Tab 10.1
    Model # GT-N8013
    Android Version 4.1.2
    Kernel Version 3.0.31-813049 se.infra@SEP-63 #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Sep 25 20:54:30 KST 2013
    Build number JZ054K.N8013UEUCM13

Bluetooth has worked for the last week, but like the title says, Bluetooth now won't turn on. If I tap the Bluetooth button on the pop-up menu from the lower right screen, the button remains dark and nothing happens.

Now that I have gone to Settings to turn it on with the slider switch, the message in the right-hand window says "Turning on Bluetooth..." and has been saying it for a half-hour with no progress. And now the little slider switch doesn't respond at all.

I would try a reset but the only apparent option is the "Factory data reset" and I don't know if that will help, and also prefer not to purge all of my settings and data.

And advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Turns out a -soft- reset (which I hadn't known how to do 'til...well, I found out how to do) fixed the problem.

Thanks to everyone who took time to read the question!

Yep, the only problem my Note-2012 had. Once a week it required recycling.
