    hi,
have 2.1 update on my droid. at first i liked the new gallery, except it keeps finding more and more random images to portray, like images from an application, for example, or snapshots of videos. I don't want all that in there, just pics i take w/ camera, or ones i put on micro sd card, maybe wallpapers, but the rest is pretty annoying.

Possible to get rid of those? There's no settings in gallery, and I didn't know if I deleted them from there, if it would delete the file?

    thanks,

I agree! I have an aviation application that installs 100's of small images of airport diagrams and the gallery find them all. There should be a way to select which folders to search for images. It is really annoying.

    Related to Gallery - video.

Video that I took with the phone will not play. The audio plays fine, but after a few seconds, the video stops playing.

Not a problem with the file because I copied them all over to the computer and play them in media player without a problem. Anyone else seeing this?

Some days I want my old gallery app back!!!

You can create a file named ".nomedia" in the folder that you don't want to see in the gallery and it will be hidden.

That would work, but then the original application that uses the images won't find them either.

I dunno... I think '.nomedia' only affects the Media scanner. I've got some images in '.nomedia' protected folders and I can see them just fine with a file manager and associated apps. Some apps even document this to hide their files from the media indexer, but not the app:

I dont have this issue.. I have a ton of gallery images and I have apps that have images - like my weather app - and I only have images in my gallery I loaded onto my phone or took with my camera.

This was my experience. It kept them out of gallery, but when I opened act 1 all my videos were gone also, and I had no wallpaper available.

Is there a different app that can be used to replace Gallery?
