So the stock keyboard sucks. I tried Swiftkey and kind of like it, but couldn't get it to work reliably on GAOSP. Would the HTC one I found here work ? [Request] Froyo HTC_IME APK - xda-developers

If it isn't possible, any other idea ??

Try AnySoftKeyboard, in my opinion it's the best!

I'll give it a go. Swiftkey works great until I re-boot the phone. For some reason I have to re-do the set-up every time. Even right now, if I long press in a text area, input method pops up. For some reason, only the stock keyboard is there. If I re-do the set-up all is well again, until the next re-boot.

Downloaded AnySoftKeyboard. Does the same thing as Swiftkey. They both revert to the default keyboard after a reboot. Only way to make them go again is to go into settings/language & keyboard and check the box for the appropriate one. I am using the 092910 nightly if it matters.
