Just a newbie to the Thunderbolt, my first Android, but I can't figure out how to get to an alpha search on "Phone" without going to the entire list; only numbers come up on the phone pad. And, if only way is to go to the alpha list, is there no way to skip to, for example, "N", without thumbing up through the address book? Thx

Depending on how you have your phone set up, have you tried just hitting the search softkey on the bottom of the phone (starting from a homescreen that is) and looking for your contact that way?

If you get too many searched results, you can go into menu - settings - search - searchable items and tweak what the search button goes through when you hit it.
