Gear VR only available from Carphone Warehouse?

Samsung announced that the Gear VR would be available with all pre-orders in selected countries. I can only find Carphone Warehouse offering this but in the US Samsung will provide the headset for all pre-orders.

Why is it exclusive to carphone warehouse?

Yes, it appears they are.

I'm with EE and therefore my only option is Carphone Warehouse buit many other retailers (including EE) are offering much cheaper upgrade deals.

Just as a bit of background information, Samsung have several stores around the UK (Liverpool and Manchester being the closest to me).. all the Branding is Samsung, so to anyone walking past it, its the Samsung equivalent of an 'Apple Store'

However, all the phones there are sold with contracts provided through Carphone Warehouse... so I suspect they are getting 'special perks' as part of their 'close relationship'

Just to clarify... it's not exclusive to CPW. Vodafone are also offering the Gear VR as a pre-order bonus, and it's also available via Samsung's online outlet. See here.
