Share your cool tips and tricks so everyone can get the most out of the new M9!

    ___________________________________________________________________
Enable developer mode on the M9 which allows additional options like disabling sleep while charging and other options like high performance mode.

Menu --> Settings --> About --> Software Information --> More
Locate "build number". Tap the build # several times until a message appears on the display with "developer options unlocked "

Now you can find the developer options in the settings menu towards the bottom of settings menu.

    From the helpful @EarlyMon corner:

If nuplayer is checked (under developer options) , uncheck and reboot.

It's supposed to be the new thing in streaming html content (content not just media).

For reasons unknown it seems to bork a lot of things and apps.

Turned on under the hood for the M8 5.0.1 Lollipop because Google did.

Google has it off for 5.1 until whatever gets sorted.

No idea if this tip matters, no idea if the M9 5.0.1 has it turned on.

    If on, turn off.

    Does not require root.

    Does not affect warranty.

Want to use another launcher like NovaPrime and still use blinkfeed?

    -Open blinkfeed default launcher
-Delete all additional screens with the exception of blinkfeed
    -Set Nova as default launcher
-Long press on home screen and choose:shortcut>activities>HTC blinkfeed>HTC Blinkfeed "launcher"

This will place a shortcut on your desktop that launches Blinkfeed. Pressing the home button returns you to Nova :)

    I hope this helps!

You beat me to it,but,my choice of launcher is HOLO Launcher HD. ;)
    Virtually identical methodology.

OK,this one here could be subjective,I try to avoid such discussions, end result is usually ugly at best, but, here we go:

If you typically go into DEVELOPER OPTIONS to speed-up animations (SETTINGS > DEVELOPER OPTIONS > ADVANCED > ANIMATION <<<<<<< {Window/Transition/Animator scale})
    I recommend leaving it as-is,set at 1.0

I usually speed things up,but,on this device,I'm finding this actually seemed to make things appear a bit choppy when set to a faster speed (0.5).
Again, this is just one users experience,& there's no harm in changing the factory setting here, especially if a faster setting is more to your liking.

QuckCharge 2.0 is alive & well on the M9:

    https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/quick-charge

    https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/devices/all?manufacturer=HTC

From 0-60% in 30 minutes is real, using a QuickCharge 2.0 charger.Just tested it out on the M9 w/my Samsung Note4 charger & while still powered on & WI-FI Tethering (actively using the desktop),I went from 9%-50% in 30 minutes.

I'm sure if I wasn't tethering &/or powered down, the result would have been equal/closer to Qualcomms' lab-testing result.
Since I've hit the 60% mark, the rate has slowed down (as intended),but, not,by much.

    UPDATE:9%- 85% in 1hr.,while powered-on & still WI-FI Tethering.
I'm gonna go out on a limb & state this will be closer to 100% in little over a hour of charging, while powered down &/or not doing something intense/battery hungry as tethering/active GPS-mapping/etc... ;)

If you don't already have a QuickCharge 1.0 or 2.0 adapter,I highly recommend picking up one or two.

A larger battery capacity would be welcome, but, this works well & for myself,a quick bump charge, while I anticipate I won't need very often, should suffice.

    Hi,
Jus got my M9 yesterday. Very impressed so far and as with every Android I have had I installed Nova Launcher. I just cannot get this to work. HTC Blinkfeed does not appear as a shortcut. Its a bit annoying but not the end of the world. Like Blinkfeed for the random stories that appear and I would love to have it available on Nova.
Any suggestions as to where I could be going wrong and could it be that Lollipop has removed this shortcut?
    Thanks

Look for something like "SENSE HOME".
That's what the shortcut is called w/the Developer Edition & using HOLO LAUNCHER.
I made the shortcut an up-swipe on the app drawer button. Works well, almost as if it were stock Sense.:)

Just received some updates to a few HTC apps via GOOGLE PLAY:
One of them was HTC SENSE HOME.
Now,BlinkFeed/Themes/SENSE Home Widget are all under one roof.
Tumblr has been added to BlinkFeed as well.

    Appreciate the help, thanks.
Strange, but I actually now enjoy Sense 7 with all the new customisation. Going to give it a tray for a while since I have tweaked my theme

I bought this Tenergy USB Fast Charger with Quick Charge 2.0 technology off Amazon for $18 and I love it! The HTC one was $35 bucks amd this does great. I use it with an HTC cord. My M8 would charge so much faster and now I use it with the M9.

This may not be news, especially for those who use BlinkFeed:
I discovered by accident that the content choices have a bit of variety/uniqueness to the area/country selected.
So,as I was adding content, noticed quite a few different/new-to-me options, & turned out I was using the U.K. as the country selected.
Upon changing to the U.S. & selecting the usual options,I discovered that the options excluisve to the U.K edition of BlinkFeed (that I selected) had stuck as well.
    Again,nothing earth-shattering & for a lot of folks,this probably does zilch to move the interest-o-meter. :paperbagdroid::rolleyes: :p
    Made my day though....... :thumbsupdroid:

It was probably operator error when I had my HTC One M9 hooked up to my Windoz 7 PC, but I lost my Screenshots folder in the M9. It finally got so bad that not only was the screenshot not where I expected, I was not able to do any screenshots.

I tried to recreate the missing folder from the File Manager. I was able to create such a folder with the desired folder name, but that by itself did not solve the problem.
The Sprint tech removed the folder that I made and proceeded as below.
This post is intended to share how the Sprint tech fixed my problem without a total phone reset.

In the System > APPS , find the top tab ALL and select it.

    Scroll down to System UI
    http://i.imgur.com/SBcjTIu.png http://i.imgur.com/kJlUUGD.png

Clear everything out and Force Stop
Cold boot the M9. (power Off / wait a moment / power back on)
When the M9 powered back on, all was well. I had the missing folder and I was able to do screen shots as before.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If I followed all his steps, then this post may help someone else.
It is possible that I missed something.
    ------------
Disclaimer - I am NOT that tech savvy. IF you attempt to do this yourself instead of taking your M9 into the SPRINT store tech, you do so at your own risk.. I suggest you print this post as a clue to the Sprint tech person.

I'm trying to create a shortcut or activety in Nova to get straight to font preference. I have a shortcut to wireless networks, brightness, and Blink Feed but can't seem to find the right module in Sense 7 Marshmallow.:batdroid:

Also anyone know a good keyboard for DBZ or Pokémon emoji to use in ?

Is it possible to make the Apps Drawer continuously scroll rather than scroll page-by-page? Maybe a root method?
