I have just gone into my service menu and when i go into software info im a bit confused about something. My phone software says 1227-4612_2.1.A.0.435 GENERIC User and my file system says WORLD-1-4-8_2.1.A.0.435. What do these mean. I am world generic or provider locked?? As i keep hearing that not all networks will get this 2.3 update unless you are world generic?? can anybody shed any light on this please

Generic means it's not linked to any provider; I assume World means it's not linked to any specific country/region (like there's a generic, Latin America, for example).

As of today no one knows which versions will get the 2.3 update. You'll have to wait and once it's available, grab the one you want!
