3D Gallery display for your phone images: An XDA developer have created a file that can show you the hidden 3d gallery that SE have covered it with there Mediascape: [APP] Gallery and Music Launcher for Xperia X10 2.1 - xda-developers Tried and tested by me and it works 100% and loving it...
OR! if you happen to use ADW or Launcher Pro...you can easily create a shortcut to the gallery that does the exact same thing
Do you have to be rooted, cos I just tried to install it and it said it couldn't be installed. I have ADW too and have looked at the custom shortcut and pick activity but can't see anything to do with gallery on there. So any pointers gratefully received!
Long press on main screen Custom Shortcut Pick your activity Activities Scroll down to gallery and press once to open drop down Select 'Gallery(.Gallery) ...et voila
Not got gallery on my activity list at all , I go from Facebook to Gesture Search. Have scanned the rest of the list and its not there at all. Edit found two camera files, one SE's the other I assume is the Android one... there was two gallery based items one wouldn't do anything and the other just takes you to an album with all your photo's in.
...also works for Music shortcut but not "3D" :- Long press on main screen Custom Shortcut Pick your activity Activities Scroll down to 'music' and press once to open drop down Select 'Music(.MusicBrowserActivity)
No not rooted. I just tried to delete a photo from in the gallery I found and it won't let me. Altho the transition between pictures seems quicker to me and it auto rotates and fits to screen which is better than mediascape which begs the question... why do SE have to fix something that aint broke!
You do need to have version 2.1... just thought I'd add that to save people who have 1.6 like me from spending time looking.
I found this to when putting a photoframe on the homescreen, it's using this too. It's weird that they have hidden it like that
I found this gallery when I was changing my icons to the little android fella but never thought about trying to set a shortcut to it more like a floating gallery than 3d imo ric
You don't need courage, now with 2.1 you just need 1 app : z4root and it's painless...no tweeking at all
I found an app for the gallery now (exclusive for x10), IDK if its the same thing you're talking about.
