Hi all,
I know, there's hundreds of threads about what to do if you have forgotten your lock screen pattern. Two days ago, I tried to log in from lock screen via the pattern, it didn't work, so I picked the phone up and used the fingerprint again, thinking "at some point in time I'll need to fix this". Today in the morning it didn't accept my fingerprint anymore but asked for the pattern, since then I've restarted several times (holding power and volume down at the same time).
The thing is: The pattern is most certainly correct. I've been using it for three months now, and although I've turned off my phone more than two weeks ago or so, I occasionally use it when I can't pick the phone up (fingerprint reader at the back).

What I tried until now:
-Samsung Find my mobile (can login and do certain things, but I haven't set up remote control to unlock)
-Android Device Manager (no connection possible)
-restart

My frustration:
I have my google account, my samsung account, my fingerprint, my home bluetooth device (as in, no unlock needed if connected; I can't switch on bluetooth on though, I'm being asked for the pattern), I'm in my home wifi (although it's just a regular wifi in my phone)... all of this is worthless when I mess up the pattern? And could this be a software problem or am I messing up my code?
And I can't even switch off my phone, I need to enter the pattern - how could I enter recovery mode, then?

Btw: I don't have the bootloader unlocked, no ADB possible.

hold the power button down for a few extra seconds. it should give you the options to power off, restart or emergency mode. you should get this option without having to unlock your phone.

Yes, it does give you the three options, but as soon as you choose one, it asks for the pattern...

that is odd. do you have a lockscreen app installed? or a different launcher?
No, that's the plain Samsung lock screen. I wrote their support and they weren't surprised, either. Just told me to combine the restart and factory reset combination. So what I do is pressing power+volume down to restart, and as soon as the screen turns black I press power+volume up. Already a second or so later the Samsung-screen pops up and I release power, still holding volume up until the recovery screen appears. It doesn't work if you don't have the intermediate step of pressing volume up AND power.
I'll now see if for some unexlainable reason I get the password running again, if not, I'll do the factory reset -.-

The first is a reset to factory settings. To do this, go to the "Recovery" mode. The way how to get into it depends on the specific device: to find out the algorithm, you need to refer to the official instructions or to the technical support of the manufacturer. In the menu, select "Factory Reset". All contacts and SMS will be erased, but the password will disappear along with them.
Another way to remove the screen lock password is to reflash the gadget. However, in this case, there is a risk of getting a non-working device. Tip: before you turn off the gadget with the password set, it is recommended to write it down somewhere, then the risk that the cipher will be forgotten is minimized; There are special programs for generating and storing codewords.
