Ok so I just used Auto-Nooter 3 to root my new 1.1 CN. It was a bit of a not sure if it is going to work as It would not boot up while keeping my Nook powered off, nor would it boot up with the mSD card in. In the end I think it is fine though as I have YouTube and Market access so goal accomplished.

One problem I have though is my microSD card now only has 39mb of space, started out as a 2GB card. How can i get all 2GB back? Playing around with WinImage and formatting and just not getting there. While not the end of the world if I need to toss this card, would like to keep it.

    Here is one way...

NookColor Format and partition your SD card back to a usable state - nookDevs

Lol no worries. I actually used my pc to reformat my sd card. I didn't know that there was an easier way until a few days ago. Doh!

So the 2 gb is enough for the root image?

I was thinking I'd just keep one with the image incase I ever needed to re-root, and then get a 16 or 32 to partition with honeycomb, or just use for storage. For the price a 2gb isn't worth clearing off it seems.

For autonooter 3.0, 2gb is fine, but others like honeycomb or froyo images, the require bigger sd cards. For autonooter, I don't think you need to keep an sd image because its so easy to reimage the card if ever you need to reinstall. Also, autonooter sometimes needs to be updated especially when barnes decides to update the stock firmware so the imaged sd card for previous firmwares might not work.

The link appears to be dead (or maybe it's blocked here at work for some reason). Can someone post the gist of it?

You can do it with it in the NC. I've since loaded a custom Rom, so a can't remember the exact options, but it's something like this. "n" button>settings>system info>sd card>unmount>format.

I might be off a little, but if you look around in the settings menus, you'll find the option to "format". Of it's grey'd out, you'll have to unmount first. Sorry my memory isn't better, but the task is very simple. I'm sure you'll get it.
