    Using following method:
    Code (Text):
    1.
    2. locationManager.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER, 10000, 10, locationListener);
    3.
    ...I get widely swinging accuracies, in open space I achieve an acceptable 5-10 meters deviation, but along a tree-lined street or with tall builders around me, I get 15-20 meters deviation, and when I step indoors, I get even worse readings.

    Apparently, the readings are 68/100 accurate, in other words, the probability of 5-10 meters deviation is 68/100. Sooo, it's not the best.

    Has anyone tried the European Galileo satellites? If so, can you share the "how-to"?

    It's normal to get varying degrees of accuracy, depending on the surroundings. I would say most GPS receiver devices will suffer from this, and I'm surprised you can get any reading at all indoors.
    And not all GPS chips are equal. Some are more accurate than others.
