I'm getting the galaxy Note 2 and I was wondering if I can get 4g with it and does it take a sim card

Depends which model you get. International 3g is GT-N7100. International 4g is GT-N7105. These both have sims. There are then variants with completely different numbers for the US and other markets. Some have SIMs and some don't. Check the specs on the exact model you are thinking of.
