So I've onlyI had the tablet a couple days, but my first impressions are...
Battery seems pretty good, it's been up for 15 hours on a full charge with a decent amount of use today, and is @ 81% right now.
Screen looks good too, text is sharp and clean, pictures are crisp. No complaints.
The cameras are awful. Rear facing is a 3.2mp with is the same as my LG Optimus from 3 years ago. Not to a huge deal, because I don't see that I'd ever really need to use it. It's a budget tablet after all, so it can't all be good news. Front camera is of course a step down from rear.
The 1gig of ram is looking to be doing alright so far. I've been running several apps and still have a couple or few hundred mb to spare.
The quad core processor has made pretty short work of everything I've thrown at it so far. It's definitely pretty snappy.
One thing I'm not thrilled with is the storage space. It seems (unless I'm missing something) you only have 1gb out of the 8 to store applications. I did free up some extra space by disabling and uninstalling updates on some Google apps I don't use, but I wish there was a little bit more flexibility in the storage. If you really use all the Google family of products, you may wind up pinching yourself trying to keep everything you want.
Overall, I'm really enjoying it so far, and it cost me ten dollars a month to add this little guy to my vzw share plan. It was on special when I picked it up, and cost me nothing for the device itself. Just had to sell another sliver of my soul to the big "V". As I get to know it better, I'll gladly pass on any valuable info I can. All things considered, if you're on a budget, but are looking for a 4G tablet with a decent set of specs, I'd definitely recommend it. If you're crazy for performance, or extras like a nice camera, I'd say keep looking.
This is my first real post here, I promise I'll get better. Also if anyone wants to know anything, about the tablet, just let me know.
Thanks!
John
Also, i forgot to mention initially, I did discover that the "bill to my Verizon account" option in Google play is not working at this time. Just an error message when you try to get it up and running that they can't verify your account. After clearing data, clearing updates, and power cycling, I called Verizon and they verified it's an issue they're aware of and working on. Apparently it has to do with Verizon messaging being disabled on the tablet. Other billing options seem to work fine though.
