Hello, i've just bought my Tattoo yesterday and i love it, but i have a problem with it. I got over 70 SMS messages yesterday, that had the name of the location.

Seems like everytime my tattoo connects to the providers station, i get a sms. Any idea how can i get rid of this?

    Thanks

Try this Menu-> Settings -> Call Settings-> Uncheck Cell Broadcast

I have a similar issue. Whenever I am in a fringe area, I get a bundle of SMSs. The originating number is 220 and the content is a sequence of digits. I tried disabling the cell broadcast, but that did not help. I am with O2 network in Germany.
    Any idea?

    Thanks.

on my Samsung with 2.1 to stop this:
in the standard sms app, press menu, then select settings, scroll down until you get to "CB settings", and un tick "CB activation"
    This will stop the "sms"
    Cheers
