My HTC desire started playing an mp3 file last night. It was on a shelf and I was watching tv and the music just came on. Am stumped as to why

Any one have any ideas?

That was my first thought that I'd assigned the song as a ring tone by accident however it wasn't an incoming call, alert or alarm. When I picked the phone up I looked at the mp3 player program and the song that playing wasn't the song it said was playing. Only got it to stop by turning phone off and off again. Twas very odd.
