Strange, what phone do you have? I'm on Gingerbread, and when I view contacts, there's an "Options" box I can select, and it lets me choose ringtones.

After an update, for me it was Eclair to Froyo, i lost my ringtones. I originally had them in a folder called ringtones in the root of my SD card. When i moved them to /media/audio/ringtones they showed up again, although i did have to reassign them to my contacts.

You do know that only gmail contacts can have custom ringtones, right?

You're welcome. Was it in the original contacts view screen? That's where my option is.

By the way, there's a "Thanks" button you can push to thank people who have helped you.

    Glad you have this resolved!
