I bought my Galaxy S online and it came unlocked with 2.2. I'm able to choose between Optus, Telstra and Vodafone. Optus and Vodafone are releasing their gingerbread upgrades "soon," would that lock me to their network? How should I upgrade my phone to Gingerbread if I still want to be able to choose my carrier?

    Thanks.

I know you did not list it but choose Virgin if you can, they add no bloatware.

    Cheers.

I bought mine from Dick Smith unlocked and just got a 3 sim card for it. I have no extra bloatware as people call it, but have downloaded a couple of apps to check usage etc.
For upgrading, I just use Kies and you get standard Samsung firmware as far as I am aware!
