Help Gingerbread, GPS signal, Google Nav, and Telenav

Running stock phone with Gingerbread. So I was able to successfully install the GPSFix.zip file using the 18 step proc well documented here and in the Sprint community. I now routinely lock onto at least 90% of the satellites found as opposed to less than 40% before the fix.

But here's something I simply do not understand.. Google Navigation will lose the signal and report gps signal lost after a period of about 30-60 minutes, whereas Telenav, which I will sometimes run at the same time just to compare the two, rarely if ever drops the signal.. And, this seems to happen with Google Navigation when almost all the satellites are fixed onto!

Has anybody else noticed this? Its forcing me to use Telenav when I really prefer Google Navigation. BTW, I did a complete factory reset just a week ago. I cant figure out why this is happening...

Anybody?

Can you provide a link for the GPS fix, using a non rooted phone?

Thanks

Sprint Community: Gingerbread GPS Issues

I don't understand step 15: 15.) Reinsert the battery and enter recovery mode (hold down vol down + camera + power until you see the recovery screen). (If your phone boots into the OS, you will have to reapply CWM as it will be overwritten during boot of the phone)

There is no camera button on my phone....

Not sure, but if you dont have an Epic 4G, I suspect you need to find the recovery mode key combo for your phone and execute it for step 15, following all the other instructions.
