    The official 2.3 ruu is for developers only so HTC say and some apps will be lost.If you root your Desire there is no way you will loose anything from your phone.

    So, okay. What....?

    I am not sure what they are saying - are they saying 2:3 is ONLY going to be a specific download aimed at developers and it will not be pushed out OTA as a normal update? :thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking:

    If so, I have not rooted my phone all this time to ensure that it is stock and can receive official updates, when now it will be stuck on 2:2 unless I root?

    Ugh. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Desire was not officially released in NZ and my phone was imported from Hong Kong but also seems to have Vietnamese / Singapore English language packs. I am with Vodafone in NZ.

    I am a bit uncertain whether it is safe to do the upgrade!

    Thanks for any and all comments.

    Current version is the Asian one:
    Kernel: 2.6.32.15-gd96f2c0
    Build: 2.13.707.2 CL274424
    Software: 2.13.707.2

    I wish to update to the Official HTC Gingerbread and have done quite a bit of research on it.
