Help Gingerbread ver 2.3.6 upgrade issue

Issue 1:
Upgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.3.6 through Kies and not able to turn off the "Use packet data".

Each time I uncheck the use packet data it goes off and when i unlock the screen the "Use Packet data" gets enabled back again automatically.

Issue 2:
Not able to switch from 3G to 2G and vice versa

Anyone facing the same upgrade issue. Is there an fix to disable the packet data.

Is it possible to revert back to previous firmware?

yes it is possible to revert to original firmware, use odin.
Did you flash from 2.2.1 to 2.3.6 or from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3/4 to 2.3.6?

I've read on some forum that might need to flash 2.2.1 to 2.3.4 then to 2.3.6?

hii. can anyone explain to me wad is ODIN and ROM? there isnt any firmware upgrade through samsung kies. and i dn knw how to upgrade my phone . can anyone help me. TQ.
