I understand I need cyangen to load gingerbread onto my huawei ascend 860, is that correct? or are they two different os's? I believe my last update on my ascend 860 was froyo? thanks eto
It was Froyo in you're on MetroPCS, and Eclair if you're on Cricket. And yes, there is no official Android ROM above Froyo for Ascend. You have to go the CyanogenMod ROM route, and the Ascend ROM is currently maintained by PlayfulGod (who has done a freaking awesome job btw). You can find his custom ROMs on Prepaid Android Wiki and PlayfulDroidz Wiki.
