Root Ginormous SUCK after SuperSU update

Ouch.

I had my phone running just how I wanted it and applied a few app updates earlier today.

Later, SuperSU said it had an update, so I clicked on it. It noted I had CWM and recommended I use that, so I did.

It seemed fine...but it reset the phone! Everything I'd worked on, all my contacts, call log...and the last voicemail I received from my mom before she passed away...gone. I'm sick inside.

I have a backup, but it's not going to get any of the stuff I really care about.

Any idea why this happened?

Nope, no idea. :(

I've never had SuperSU prompt me about CWM when updating, that seems odd to me. You should be able to get your contacts back by syncing your F3 to your Google account.

it won't help you, but did it boot itself to not recovery in order to run the update? if so, that's what caused the reset. can't soft boot into recovery on the f3. for some stupid reason they protected it.

This happened to me as well (while I was studiously avoiding the system v8 update until I was sure I could do it correctly). It's a pain in the rear but I can reinstall everything I had.

My main problem since this happened is I can't seem to make a data connection. WiFi is ok, and I can get calls, but anytime I'm away from wifi I can't download anything. I've checked to make sure data is on and I didn't accidentally turn on airplane mode. Is there some setting I hit accidentally to turn it off? I can't think what else to check.
