Gmail and Android

How do I prevent my gmail contacts, email, and calendar from syncing with my android? I want to use the same email to login, but dont want the above to be synced

Setting->Accounts & sync and uncheck your gmail account.

there is only "bacground data", "auto sync" "manage account"-with my google account. but i cant uncheck it

You can't uncheck the account, but you can select it. Doing so will reveal 3 check boxes, for Sync Contacts, Sync Gmail and Sync Calendar. Uncheck each of these and you should be all set.

thx juz realised that i nid to enable 'auto-sync' before the 3 check boxes reveal itself
