I have been using my droid with gmail for 3 weeks now no problems. All the sudden I stopped getting notifcations from gmail. I did not make any changes to the settings and checked them to make sure everything was normal. If I go into gmail and click refresh I get a notification with all the new emails. It used to be instant, as soon as a new email came I would get a notifcation. Now they dont come at all... anyone know whats going on?

    Try this...

Go into Settings | Applications | Manage Applications...

Scroll and select GMail -> Clear Cache and Clear Data

select GMail Storage -> Clear Cache and Clear Data

exit settings, and go back to GMail app and do a refresh

good call, that worked for me when i had this issue a few weeks ago. It was luckily a one time thing that clearing the cache fixed.

Are you using a task killer application on your phone?

Nope. No crazy apps or anything like that. Should I try removing gmail and re installing?
