Gmail Sync??'s

HTC Hero by Sprint, running 2.1.6...I notice that I get my gmail updates almost instantaniously during the day, but at night I will get one and if I don't touch the phone, I won't get another until I start using the phone again.

Is this some sort of "sleep" feature where you will not recieve gmail notifications while you are not using the phone (over night), or is it just my imagination?? I have noticed this numerous times over the past couple months, although I have not really been putting this theory to a controled test...

Had same problem, here is how I fixed it. Menu, settings, applications, manage applications. Go to gmail and gmail storage and clear cache and clear data, then reboot your phone. Hopefully this helps
