Help Gmail unread from point

How do I mark a Gmail message unread from a certain point in the emails like you can on the desktop version? If I hit the envelope it makes the whole list of emails unread. Sometimes I have a lot of replies and want to be able to pick up were I left off.

i moved your thread to the general gnexus forum. i can move this back, if you are rooted and have a custom rom(could be a rom issue).

i do not have your phone so it might be different than mine(htc evo 4g lte).
