Support Gmail will not update by itself

    I have a droid x. I have problems with my gmail updating by it self.it used to update before by its self. Any one have any ideas? Thanks...

    did you turn auto sync off? like on the power control widget?

    Omfg, I've had this same issue for weeks. It was the dang power control widget all along! Thanks droidster709 for this thread and thanks Doylerules826 for the solution.

    ahhh. thats what it is!! the sync in the power control widget.
    ive been manually syncing. i think i like that better. gmail isnt important enought to me to warrant real time syncing.

    There's an android widget that you can add to the home screen called Power Control. It let's you turn gps, wifi, Bluetooth, and data sync on or off with a single touch. I (and others) had data sync turned off. It's the icon with two arrows in a circle.

    Gmail sync takes very little battery power. I leave it on. POP3 takes very little battery power too, by the way.
