  1. Android Question

    Thread Starter

I had added contacts to my mobile, but now cannot see them at all as it seems to be wanting to use my gmail account - which has nothing in it becaue I don't use it!
I cannot easily locate all the contact details.
How do I get rid of the gmail account and start using the 'phone conacts again?

You need to keep your gmail account on your phone - its a google phone, like it or not.

    Open contacts
    menu button
scroll down to Contact to display
    Select all

you should now be able to see everything you have entered.

Nomally when you add a contact, there is a drop down at the top of the entr screen allowing you to choose which account it should be in. Choose phone if thats what you want. Be aware though, if you loose your phone or it dies, you will loose all the contacts that are phone contacts. Google contacts are backed up to their servers and are available on any internet connected device as long as you have your gmail account name and password. (As an aside, make a record of your gmail account name and password even if you dont intend to use googles services, it can save a lot of problems if you have a lost or faulty phone)
