Help Goldcard DHD

So, goldcard has been completed but im wondering what to do now. Basically want to get rid of the horrible orange bloatware on my DHD. Where can i download an official HTC ROM for my desire HD? Cant find one on the HTC website and my phone wont find anything when i check for updates. Kinda lost. Any help welcome.

Unlocking and depending are two separate things. Unlocking specifically refers to using the phone with a sim from any network, for which you need an unlock code. So ignore all of that.

To debrand your phone you need to make a goldcard and then download the unbranded firmware from HTC's website and install that via your PC.

Legend, cheers for that Is the goldcard route easier than rooting?

EDIT : Noob alert; So completed goldcard, put the memory card in my phone, what the heck do i do now? Trying to find somekind of android version for the desire HD online but cant find one???

You need a Rom Update Utility (RUU). For whatever reason, HTC don't put then on their website for the DHD. Here's a link to the unbranded World Wide English (WWE) 2.2 firmware. The goldcard allows you to bypass the check the RUU makes to ensure you're installing a newer firmware with the correct branding - you can't downgrade or unbrand without one.

Then you plug the phone in by USB and run the RUU on your pc. That will install the firmware, but be aware that it will preform a full factory reset.
