Good APK Sites

Hello there, welcome to AF.

There are plenty of decent ways to get apps, the Play store itself, GetJar, Amazon App store etc.

I'd steer clear of any warez sites or sites that offer paid apps for free. You never know what you're downloading and it's obviously illegal (or at the very least infringes on the devs copyright) so it's not encouraged or allowed here.

Any issues with downloading from Play?

That's the thing, with Android it doesn't really matter (so long as they're not pirated/warez, as was mentioned above). Just be sure you've enabled the toggle for "unknown sources" in your app settings, and you're on your way.
