Well, I just went to the Verizon store to complain about my 4th Eris(my 3rd in 2 weeks). After being in there before, I was supposed to get a call from the District Manager, obviously I never did, that was 2 weeks ago. Last week, I went into a different store and got a different District Manager's number and called her, left a voicemail and never heard back. So, walking into the store very pissed off, my mom and I started talking to the Store Manager. While talking with her and telling her that we should not need to get a replacement every week for the same issues, another customer started talking to my mom about her having the same issues and she told us what to say. Eventually, the store manager said that she would give me a $100 credit to any phone I wanted, I thought this was great being that I was thinking about getting the Droid X. My mom started to tell the manager how we were going to go to ATT and contact my dad's company and tell them how we were treated poorly. This got on the store manager's last nerve and she gave me a brand new Motorola Droid for FREE.

I have had the Droid for about 2 hours now and it is SO much better than my Eris. Looks like I am done watching this part of the Forum with an Eagle eye and will start to monitor the Moto Droid one. Maybe I will come back at points for some fun. Thank you everyone in the Droid Eris section for all the help.

Well, congrats on getting your phone problems hopefully alleviated.

I just still couldn't see myself going to the Droid. But everyone has thier own styles I guess.

Seriously though, hopefully you won't have any more issues and have to keep going in getting a replacement. Thats gotta freaking suck!

I knew you got the Droid, Porky. :) I was just iterating that I'll likely be perusing forums in areas about other devices, mainly the X and also the Droid, when I add my line for the X.

I need another family line, so my kid gets the rooted Eris and I get the X. Hoozah! ;)

I felt the same as you at one time but after having both, I definitely prefer the Droid. Is it as sexy as the Eris? Not even close!! But the performance can not be compared. And the Dev community for the Droid is unbelievable. But like you said everyone has their styles... Some choose style over function, I guess I prefer function over style.

If they ever get the bootloader cracked to allow installing custom ROMs and kernels, I will take a serious look at the X. I love my Droid but I don't really use the keyboard and would love a keyboard-less phone again.

@OP: Have fun with your Droid and if you're into rooting you will be amazed at the quality of the ROMs and themes available.

There's no way I can stay away from the Eris forums. Heck, the Eris will still be in the family.

    Wait a minute here....
Frisco, rooted? How long have I been away?

And I really bring that up cuz aside from myself, I figured you'd be the last one to root. How's that working out for you? I actually just became tempted earlier today.

Sorry OP, don't mean to hijack.

Can't beat that OMAP processor. Well, you can, but you'd need to get the Fascinate.

I really hope it ends up getting Gingerbread (officially) as I'm running it on another device and the Droid would truly be my primary phone.

    We can only hope.

I'm not going anywhere, nomarsgirl. I'm merely adding Droid X and Droid forums to my hangouts.

Eris forums is home, to me. ;)

Congratulations! The Motorola Droid is an excellent phone. Guess I'll be seeing you a lot in the Droid forums now. :)

Unfortunately, we do not condone threads like this since most people tend to brag about their new device and cause arguments. I know this wasn't your intent what so ever, but we have to maintain a standard and treat every situation somewhat equally.
