Google Buzz? Now for the Rest of Us – Android and Me
Goodbye Facebook...hello Buzzzzzzz.....
I'm still not sold on Buzz. It's just one more thing for me to check.
Same thing my wife said. I am just sick of facebooks updates so I am just grumpy. I just get excited when I have something new that is connected to my gmail.
Maybe Buzz will take off, maybe it won't.
All my friends that are interested in any type of social media are already on Facebook. I only have person in my contact list with a gmail account and I'm not interested in following them; I've already ignored their Facebook friend request. For me Buzz is a big *bzzzzz*.
Right now Buzz is just a mess. Do I really want to see every single comment that people make about someone else's comment? I'm finding it a train wreck. Needs work.
This is like Wave...I'll wait till they work the bugs out then play with it. This would make your primary e-mail account a g-mail, which..mine really isn't.
Great to see where Google's focus is. They should be focusing on coming down harder on HTC to put up Sense 2.1
i agree to both your statements. This and Wave need all the bugs worked out, and maybe Google should start taking all these new services and creating one service.
And Google really needs to kick HTC in the balls and send us 2.1 already. Hell the N1 has its 2nd update on the way and its only been out what, 6 weeks? You promised us 2.1, now GIVE IT TO US
Maybe it's an age thing but Until Buzz came out, I thought Twitter was the stupidest thing to date. I now stand corrected. Whats the point? You have a phone, It's in your hand Just call the other "Lonely" person to see what he or she is doing.
Everybody today want's to be connected, but only if it's anonymous and virtual. It's like I tell my kids - Put down the Computer and go outside. The "Cool / Fun" stuff you are reading about on your "Friends" - Tweets, Walls, Spaces etc. They are presumably and hopefully doing in real life. Don't you want to be a part of that?
Of course the Avg. teen and 20 something has 700+ "Friends" on their Social Networking site of choice, Which is odd in and of itself, because most of them never leave the dam house!
With that said, The "Near me Now" Feature that you get with Google in 2.0 and is included or part of buzz, albeit in a butchered format could be of minimal use. If it works as advertised.
I thought Twitter was stupid, but now I follow my favorite comedians and athletes on there and it's pretty cool. Also, tech bloggers so I stay up-to-date with the news. It's kinda like Google Reader, only a bit different. I actually don't follow ANY of my friends because I don't give a shit.
And those 700+ friends are usually just results of "hey! I threw up in your car last night!! we have a common bond!!" of a lot of college students. I know I can be like that, but I stop myself from going trigger-happy. No one has 700 friends, they're just people they have heard of and just want to boost the friend list. Kinda reminds you of girls in elementary school bitching over who has more friends. Well, the girls I grew up with at least.
Buzz could grow on me. But let me ask you this. How the hell does Google Wave work? I watched that explanation video like 6 times. I still have no idea wtf it is
I had that same problem but my friends and I use it for videos, articles, pictures, or personal messages instead of flooding each other's walls on Facebook with it. Between two Waves, there are over 1000 posts between us all. Wouldn't say I couldn't live without it, but it's definitely fun to play with.
It's still in beta, so it's slow as they figure things out, but remember, GMail was in beta for years and only recently lost the "beta" moniker.
well that actually helped me understand it more. When the hell is Googel Gonna release its Gizmo5 already. I seriously want Google Voice + Gizmo5 on my phone. VOIP FTW
