Qi chargers are pretty much commodities these days. Either it will work or it won't (in which case it's under warranty). You're paying about $45 for the stand, though - you can get decent chargers for about $22. (And the phone draws more than the charger supplies, so watching a movie while the phone is in the charging stand is still discharging the battery.)

Yeah, true...but I like the Qi chargers that can also be a stand, so I was just curious. Tylt is still my favorite, but I'm always keeping am eye out.

I too use the TYLT for both my 7/2013 and my LG G2.

I bought an incipio Qi charger on dailysteals about a week ago for $15. It is "droid" branded but works fine with my N7 even through the case I have.

My Nexus 7 2 is in a Belkin case. The case thickness is 7-8mm from the rear of tablet. Do Qi chargers generally work over this small distance?

I've noticed really bad overheating using the Tylt that I borrowed from a friend just to see how it works. Used it for a week. After charging for around 30 minutes the Nexus 7 got really hot and on two occassions shutdown automatically due to overheating. Might be because of my case. Dunno.

The one I have that I linked to works great. it charges right through my thick leather folio case (probably 6-8mm thick or so). I think it work through almost any case.

Thanks for info. Hope the one I have ordered functions OK! It says 5mm but I think they all function under the same regulation.

I think you're right. You will soon find out the joys of wireless charging. Once you go wireless the thought of standard charging almost seems ridiculous. That's how nice it is.

Charger works well but not through the Belkin case.
Is it OK to leave tablet on charger when not in use eg battery is mostly fully charged.

Interesting. I haven't had this issue. I usually let mine charge all night, and it is fine in the morning...

It is OK, it stops And starts charging as necessary, it will not overcharge. As for charging through case, maybe you should try the charger I have (link in previous post) as mine charges fine through my case(which is about as thick as you can get). Taking it out of the case just to wirelessly charge kind of defeats the purpose of wireless charging.

My TYLT works through two layers of leather on the backside of my KAYSCASE.

Pottering around indoors, I don't really need the case ... I got it for when I travel to protect. See how I go.
    Thanks for reply.

Full disclosure: my startup makes the product I'm about to mention. We've developed a wireless charging stand for the Nexus 7 that keeps the tablet in a upright/vertical position (approx. 60 degrees, compared to the Tylt's 45 degree angle) in portrait or landscape, so it's easy to continue reading content, check calendar, etc... while the Nexus charges. The product is called "Nextand" and is available now on Kickstarter.
