Help Google + and contacts

I updated to jelly bean today and have been getting everything in order again.

In my people app, I have my google contacts as the only thing synced. When I open the people app though, it also shows the people I follow on google +.

I can't find any way to turn that off....can someone help out?

I only want the contacts I have saved in gmail to show up in my people app/contacts list.

Looking at my contacts....it looks like google syncs them in my email as well.

So I guess what I should be asking is....there used to be an option to only display contacts, on my phone, that have a phone number associated with them. This would keep random people I follow on google + out of my contacts, as its basically a website and maybe an email.

I can't find where to do that now...did they remove that option with jelly bean or something?

I remember that option to only display people with a phone number. I used it when I sync'ed my facebook and my work contacts in with my normal phone contacts so I my address book wasn't insane.

No clue where that option was though. Don't remember how I did it.

Go to settings > Google > Google+ and turn off 'Keep Contacts up to Date'. I also turned off 'Connect more easily' because I don't want Google to 'help' me that much. For that matter, I turned EVERYTHING off on that screen. I use G+ when I want to, not when it wants my attention...
