google apps?? any hope?

I'm thinking if getting a couple of these tablets for my kids but have one problem. I want to be able to video chat with them via Google talk. I do not want any other app for this I want good talk so don't suggest other apps as it is there by default on my phone and I do t want to have another desperate video chat app. So has anyone gotten the Google apps to work yet?
