Why does play store show there is Google assistant there for us to download? Isn't the app already pre-installed in all Android phones? Or am I missing something?

I'm not sure if it is available on all phones, which is one reason to have it available in Play. Also, it provides a seamless way for updates to be applied.

Thank you. I have used many android phones and they all had Google assistant in them. But yes, you may be correct.

I know that is why Google Clock, Gmail, and even Google play are apps in the play store.
