Good to hear

Would have been better to hear that an app like this would have never made it to the market in the first place. I don't want the Android Market locked down like Apple's App Store, but something needs to be done to catch such blatently bad apps like this BEFORE they get onto the Market.

True, this would quickly get out of hand and very soon it would be completely mandatory that all Android smartphones be running a firewall and spyware apps. I hope that day never comes!

Just a bit of criticism here. I agree that apps like this should never have been made but don't you guys believe it is a little hypocritical that google would remove it while they "accidentally" pickup information and deliver it to the government. I think we know the definition of privacy and it should be enforced on all levels.
