I transferred everything from Nokia 3 to a new Nokia 5.3 using Bluetooth as per Instructions that were on the new phone. But the Google Calendar entries did not get transferred.
Then I think they must have synced the wrong way as the Calendar entries on the Nokia 3 were wiped.
How can I recover the Calendar?

you can't. if your google calendar was not sync'd to the servers for google, and you wiped the phone......that data is gone.......sorry.

you should have made sure everything was sync'd first.

I didn't wipe the old phone. The data went by itself probably by automatic sync.

if it sync'd, the data would not self delete. not sure what happened then. try syncing the calendar off of the old phone and then wipe data and cache for the calendar on the new phone and then re-sign in to google calendar.

it should be a setting within your old phone's calendar app.

Can't see it in Calendar Settings. I have General, Events from Gmail, account name, Events, Tasks, Reminders, PC Sync, More,
    Birthdays, Holidays.

hmmmm i have a note 10+ so maybe its different on the old phone. maybe in your phone's settings do a search for calendar sync and see what pops up.

Just write everything down, and put it somewhere you do not understand, eh what is dealing with the empty unforeseen future anyways?

I have done all that to no avail.
In looking for that I noticed that in Settings\Accounts\"my account"\Accont sync\ there is a Calendar & a Google Calendar and both are synced. Is that significant?

No, probably not. My Settings/Accounts/Google/Account sync has both of those, and I have one or two Calendar apps with their own syncs (for tasks I suspect, since they are the two calendar apps I have that include tasks and Google Tasks sync is depressingly basic). I think this is normal.

Have you tried visiting calendar.google.com from a browser, logging in to your account and checking whether the calendar events are there. If they are then you just need to sync the new phone with them and it's done, doesn't matter about the old phone. There is a "bin" there, so it might be worth looking for deleted events there if you can't see them. There's also an "import and export" option in the settings there, so if you can find the events you could export everything so that you have an independent backup.

If the events weren't synced from the old phone then their being deleted from the old phone is the end of it. One of these setup apps (each manufacturer tends to have its own) shouldn't delete anything from the old phone, so something clearly went wrong, but that doesn't help now that it's happened. I don't think it's a "synced the wrong way" issue since they don't sync (two-way transfer), they just transfer (one way), and everything else transferred so you didn't do the process the wrong way round. But unfortunately that just leave "a bug in the app" as the explanation, which isn't something that offers any solution.
