Help Google Clock on Home screen problem

I am very new to Android.

I imported Google Digital Clock to the home screen but it did not expand, but remained an icon. I want a transparent digital clock on my home screen.

Then I went to my son's phone and it is expanded on his phone like it is supposed to be.

Hi

It sounds like you imported the app icon, rather than the widget, to your homescreen.

Long press the home screen
select "widgets"

choose the clock widget you like and press and hold it and then drop it on the homescreen.

Thank you girolez, you are correct, I found the widget 'Digital Clock' and imported it to my home screen.

You cannot get to widgets though by pressing on the home screen, it only gives you the background scheme choices, but I found widgets by going to Apps. I guess it is a different version of Android.
