I run google contacts on my Merge. Is there any way to push new contacts entered in the phone to my gmail contacts to keep them updated? I could manually enter them I suppose but I feel there should be a simpler way to do this. Additionally, if I edit my gmail contacts on the web, can I update them so they show up in my phone? I realize I could delete and re-sync but I don't want to lose new contacts I've entered that are on the phone since I'm lazy and do not haven't to manually entered.
If you add the contacts on your phone as Google account contacts, they should sync automatically. You can verify this by going to Settings > Accounts and Sync, looking for your gmail account, and then seeing what items are being synced (calendar, contacts, etc.) If that is set to sync, it should do it automatically in the background. Usually it only takes a few minutes, so it might not be "instant".
Also, some phones have several memories for contacts. You can check this by going to the "Settings>Save new contacts to" option of your phonebook. Make sure to set it to Google.
Thanks! I followed what amlothi said and found the refresh option, however I've been trying it since the response on this forum and it says "refresh is temporarily unavailable" :/ I guess I'll have to keep trying unless someone knows why this would be...
