I opened Google Play a few minutes ago to find this: [IMG]

Google Docs updates to become Google Drive. I haven't even opened it yet, just wanted to let everyone know it was released!

    1. Download the Forums for Android™ app!

Drive.google.com is live as well. I just signed up and downloaded the installer. 5GB is free. I'm probably gonna stick with Dropbox though, but I'll try it.

Edit: It looks like it's got everything in my Google Docs account.

Yep, It's a name change as much as anything. Android app looks slick even if it doesn't do much - can't create folders on the phone only online.

Yeah, given how Dropbox has been giving space away lately, I think lots of people saw this coming. For me, I'll stick with Dropbox as I have more space there, and can put anything into it.

    $4 isn't bad for 20gb though.

I read that prices have gone up. You had to get the 20gb for $5/yr prior to yesterday to get that price (I did it a couple years ago).

It told me my Google drive wasn't ready yet.

I updated today and then used my chromebook to transfer all of my files from box and dropbox. Don't know why it wouldn't be available for some

While it's nice to have my Google docs documents on my desktop, I don't know that I'll use this service more than Dropbox.

I suspect I'll use Google primarily for backups and Dropbox for sharing. And yeah, once Google gets mine available, I'll very likely pay for more space, since they have good prices. :)
